When are refunds available?Refunds are processed starting the 1st Day of Classes for the Semester for that semester. Refunds for any other prior semester are only generated once a week.
Financial aid recipients (grants, scholarships and loans) can expect a refund to be available 2-7 business days from the day funds are posted to their student account and creates an overpayment.
Non financial aid students (self paid, 3rd party, etc) should expect a refund for any dropped courses or overpayments within 2-7 business days after the semester add/drop deadline. After the semester add/drop deadline, refunds are generated within 2-7 business days from the date an overpayment is generated on your student account.

How will I be notified that a refund is available? Students will receive an email to their myAims email account notifying them of the refund and when it will be available. The email is sent out generally the night before the funds are available to you.
Starting Summer 2012, all refunds will be placed on your Aims Campus Card (Debit Prepaid Discover Card). Paper checks will not be issued, please expect your funds to be placed on your Campus Card. You will also receive a notification from Acceluraid to let you know the funds are on your Campus card and available immediately for use.

I dropped a class and my parents paid, can the refund be issued to my parents?Refunds are ONLY issued to the student.
Once the funds are on your Aims Campus card, you can transfer the funds to your parents bank account, use bill pay or get cash from an ATM to give the funds to your parent.

I dropped a course(es) during the add/drop period for the semester, when is my refund available?Eligible Refunds for dropped courses are generated 2-10 business days after the add/drop deadline for the semester. REFUNDS FOR DROPPED COURSES WILL NOT BE ISSUED UNTIL AFTER THE ADD/DROP DEADLINE.
After the semester add/drop deadline, refunds for dropped courses, overpayments, etc are processed within 2-7 business days after a credit balance is generated on the student tuition account.
If you are a financial aid recipient and you dropped a course(es), your financial aid eligibility may be affected. Please see a financial aid staff member to discuss the matter

I have been deployed for active military service, can my spouse receive my refund?All eligible refunds can only be issued to the student due to FERPA laws.

I haven't received an email notifying me of a refund, what do I do?- Log into myAims and check your email and check your student tuition account.

I paid by credit card, can the credit card be credited for the refund instead?Aims Community College cannot send a credit back to the credit card used for payment. All students should expect to be issued a refund to their Aims Campus Card.
Once the funds are on the Campus Card, you will be able to use bill pay to pay our credit card.

My parents paid by credit card for my account, can you credit their credit card for the refund instead of issuing the refund to the student?Aims Community College cannot send a credit back to the credit card used for payment. All students should expect to be issued a refund to their Aims Campus Card.

Can my refund be used to pay for any current charges on my student account that occurred after the refund was issued?Once the refund is on your student Campus Card, you may use that card to pay for anything owed on your student account.
You may login into MyAims and pay online or visit one of our convenient Cashier Office’s.

I am a High School student; can the refund be issued to my parent(s)?Refunds are issued to the student via the Aims Campus Card. The student then transfer the funds to the parents banking account, use bill pay or use the ATM to withdrawal funds and pay the parent.
