MEDIA ADVISORY AND PHOTO OP: Aims Community College presents a free concert under the stars on October 6 in Greeley to celebrate its 50th Anniversary with the community

GREELEY, CO – September 13, 2017 – Put on your dancing boots and enjoy, “Aardvarks in the Dark present Concert Under the Stars,” free community concert at the Aims Community College Greeley campus on Friday, October 6.

Emma Marie, a 13-year-old singer-songwriter from Loveland, Colorado will kick off the night with music played at New West Fest and Little Big Shots in the U.K. Sean Curtis & the Divide, previously seen at the Greeley Independence Day Stampede and Cheyenne Frontier Days will play Rocky Mountain Country. Food trucks will be available beginning at 5:30 p.m. Sean Curtis was born in Fort Morgan, Colorado and moved to Wyoming. The public and media are invited to attend this free event that is being offered to the community during Aims Community College’s 50th anniversary year.

WHAT: Aardvarks in the Dark present a Concert Under the Stars at Aims Community College
WHEN: Friday, October 6 (food trucks available starting at 5:30 p.m., opening act Emma Marie starts at 6 p.m., headline act Sean Curtis & The Divide starts at 7 p.m.). This event is dependent on the weather and updates will be made to Aims’ Facebook page as needed.

“Aims Community College’s purpose is to build a stronger community, and the intention of hosting a 50th anniversary concert is to celebrate with the community and thank them for their support through the years,” said Aims’ President Dr. Leah L. Bornstein. “We purposely brought in local artists to show our support for musical talent near Aims Community College.”

The College will celebrate its 50th anniversary with events throughout the year. On October 25, Aims will “bury” a time capsule at the new Applied Technology and Trades Center on the Greeley campus, to be opened in 50 years.
