New website connects students and alumni with employers

Submitted on: 04-06-2007

Aims Community College recently launched a new online system that connects students and alumni with employers who are hiring. Career Advance allows employers to post a company profile and unlimited job postings. “We want to make the communication between employers and students very direct,” said Lori Ketelhut, coordinator of Career Services. “With Career Advance, employers can search for potential hires and view their resumes, and students and alumni can search for employers and view their profiles. It’s very interactive and two-sided.” Companies can post full-time, part-time, internship and volunteer opportunities and register for on-campus career fairs or just post a company profile. Jobs and profiles will be approved and go live on the site within one business day. So far, about 75 employers have registered, Ketelhut said. Employers may also opt to receive applications directly through the system along with the applicants’ resumes. “The system is very straightforward and easy to use,” Ketelhut said. “You can update your profile and job listings quickly and simply.” Access to the Aims Career Advance program can be gained by visiting the college’s Career Services website at: For more information on Career Advance or the Aims Career Services department, contact Lori Ketelhut at 339-6596 or e-mail
