Aims to host 5C's composition conference
Submitted on: 04-10-2007Aims will be hosting the largest writing conference of its kind in Northern Colorado this Friday, April 13 for college English teachers. The 2007 Colorado Community College Conference on Composition (5C's) will be an all-day event at the Aims Corporate Education Center, 5590 W. 11th Street. This year's keynote speaker will be Russ Ward, who will discuss, “The Millennial Challenge: Working with Under-prepared Writing Students." Ward is a veteran instructor with more than 33 years teaching college-level composition. The conference focuses on the teaching of developmental and first-year composition students. Conference topics include strategies to work with ever-evolving state mandates, increasing numbers of ESL or under-prepared students, concerns related to developmental writing/reading and challenges associated with the millennial generation.
