Nationally recognized counterterrorism expert to speak at Aims Community CollegeSubmitted on: 01-18-2008
Aims Community College and The Northeast Colorado Regional EMS/Trauma Advisory Council (RETAC) will host nationally recognized counterterrorism expert Joe Ruffini on Friday, Feb. 8 for two half-day presentations on Terror Awareness, Preparedness and Prevention. A morning session designed for the general public, government officials and school administrators will run from 8 a.m. to noon. The afternoon session will run from 1 to 5 p.m. and is designed to address issues concerning emergency services, police, fire and ambulance personnel. Each session costs $25 per person. The event will be held at the Aims Corporate Education Center, 5590 W. 11th Street, Greeley. Please register by Feb. 7 by calling (970) 339-6685. A retired Lt. Col. of the U.S. Army, Ruffini has extensive and diverse experience in counter-terror, information operations and corporate security practices. His expertise crosses the full spectrum of security disciplines, from operations and communications security, to computer, information and physical security. Ruffini studies current and emerging world threats to the United States government and private enterprise. Recently, he served as an Executive Consultant supporting United States Space and Strategic Commands, and the White House National Security Council in support of counter insurgency and information operations for operations in Afghanistan and Iraq.
