Aims offers day-long session to enhance job searching skills

In response to the economic crises many community members are experiencing, the Aims Continuing Education Division is offering a special Career Enhancement Day on Saturday, May 9 from 8 am to 3:30 pm. The event will feature four, 90-minute sessions designed to help participants make the most out of their career search. Each session costs $49 individually, or attendants can take all four sessions for $170. Mapping Your Career runs from 8 to 9:30 a.m. This course offers tools to establish a customized career direction and measurement tools to help the student identify their own career values and goals. A Job Search That Works will be held from 9:45 to 11:15 a.m. This course outlines a proven 10-step job search program. Individuals will learn how to make an impact with resumes, applications and interviews. Designing Creative Resumes will be from 12:15 to 1:45 p.m. This course will cover how to design resumes that will attract the interest of prospective employers by combining creative and technical abilities. Today more and more emphasis is being placed on technological skills, how do you take advantage of those skills plus your past knowledge. Preparing for Your Interview will be from 2 to 3:30 p.m. This course will prepare and prime interviewees for the job-hunting process.
