Joiner named to Phi Theta Kappa All-Colorado Academic TeamSubmitted on: 03-24-2010
Aims Community College student and employee Kim Joiner recently received the Phi Theta Kappa All-Colorado Team award for her academic achievement, leadership and community service. Joiner is the President of the Aims Beta Kappa Lambda Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, which is the international community college honor society. Joiner, who is also the Assistant Director of the Monfort Early Childhood Education Center at Aims, plans to attend Colorado State University after earning her associate degree at Aims in May 2011. She has been active in community service projects through Phi Theta Kappa including organizing a personal item drive for A Woman's Place and extensive volunteering with the United Way of Weld County's Promises for Children program. The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation sponsors the All-Colorado Community College Academic Team. As an award winner, Joiner is eligible to be named to the All-USA Community College Academic Team later this year.
