Aims Flight Training Center earns safety awardSubmitted on: 09-26-2012
GREELEY – The faculty and staff at Aims Community College Flight Training Center are serious about safety, and it shows. The Flight Training Center has been recognized by Phoenix Aviation Managers for excellence following a safety audit.
“While we do numerous aviation safety audits, only a select few are recognized for their excellence,” said Thomas Harris of Phoenix Aviation Managers. “Everyone associated with Aims Flight Training Center can be justifiably proud of his or her interest in safety and in Aims’ demonstrated record of superior performance.”
Aims Flight Training Center has maintained an excellent safety record throughout its history. In 2010 Amber Inman, Aims Flight Training Center dispatcher and Alex Wernsman, Aims Flight Training Center flight instructor, began developing a new safety program. Together, they completed the FAA Safety/FAASTeam Course offered at Aims Community College. Inman and Wernsman took the knowledge gained from that course and developed the safety program in use at the Aims Flight Training Center today.
“The Northern Colorado community and everyone associated with the Aims Aviation program can rest assured that the Aims Flight Training Center is always striving to provide the highest level of safety possible for it flight students, staff and the community at large,” said Vaughn Hanson, aviation director for Aims Community College.
