Submitted on: 03-28-2014

Aims Community College is offering a free program titled “Give Your Voice Truth” on April 3 from from noon to 1:30 p.m. in Ed Beaty Hall Theater. Presenter Ash Beckham will speak about empathy, respect and the power of having real conversations. She takes on topics like the crippling experience of being trapped in a closet, the difference between tolerance and acceptance, and the need to remove the word “gay” as a negative term from our common language. Beckham will share how to take off the armor and be our authentic selves. She elevates her audience beyond empathy into the realm of personal discovery and challenges every listener to take personal responsibility for creating a much bigger societal shift.

This presentation is sponsored by the Aims Human2Human Project, which is a college-wide program aiming to make a positive impact on the community by providing learning opportunities through the presentation of different perspectives.

All Human2Human events are free and open to the public and take place from noon to 1:30 p.m. in Ed Beaty Hall Theater.
