Aims Automotive and Technology Center receives check from Greeley Igniters Car Club

Submitted on: 07-21-2014

On Saturday, July 12, Greeley Igniters Car Club members continued their legacy of giving by presenting a check to the Aims Community College Foundation at the 4th Annual Aims Automotive Car Show. The Igniters Club, one of the oldest car clubs in Colorado, continues to support scholarships for students who attend the Aims automotive programs. The check was presented to the students, instructors and staff of the Aims Automotive & Technology Center.

“The goal of the Igniters has always been to promote and encourage safe driving to the younger generations and to promote interest in the old iron we drive, the new stuff kids like, and to get them off the street racing and on the track,” Gary Akin of the Igniters said. “What better way to do that than to support our college and high school youth at our own automotive community college program.”

The Igniters have contributed every year to their established scholarships and additionally help with the Aims Car Show promotion and set up, adding history and experience to the fun and free annual community event.
