Grants
The Office of Grants and Contracts provides leadership in developing and
maintaining grant support at Aims. The Office assists the college in strategic
grants planning, helps Aims faculty and staff develop competitive proposals,
coordinates institutional approval of all grant and contract proposals
submitted by Aims, and provides support for grants management activities.

Northern Colorado Automotive Service Technology Expansion

Community-Based Job Training Grants, U.S. Department of Labor
- Amount: $818,691
- Project Period: 11/1/05 – 10/31/08
This grant will allow Aims Community College to implement the expansion
of its Automotive Service Technology program from the Greeley campus
to the Fort Lupton campus. By the end of the three-year grant period,
the program will train an additional 55 participants to obtain
employment in this high-growth/high-demand field.

This grant will allow Aims Community College to increase the retention,
graduation and transfer rates of eligible students, and to foster
an institutional climate supportive of the success of low-income
and first generation college students and students with disabilities.

Monfort Early Childhood Education Center Child Care Access Grant
TRIO—Student Support Services, U.S. Department of Education

- Project Period: 10/1/05 – 9/30/09
This grant will allow Aims Community College’s Monfort Early
Childhood Education Center to provide child care subsidies through
a sliding fee scale to help low income student parents pay for child
care while they are enrolled at Aims. The overall goal of
the program is to help low income student-parents enroll in and
complete postsecondary education.

Start Hispanic Latino Service Partnership Institutions

This grant provides professional development opportunities and
incentives for Head Start staff to improve the quality and long-term
effectiveness of the Head Start and Migrant Seasonal Head Start
programs.

Alcanzar Health Professions Certificate Programs

- Amount: $325,000
- Project Period: 4/1/05 – 6/30/08
This grant will allow Aims Community College to increase the number
of individuals receiving education and certification in entry-level
health careers. The career ladder model of the short-term
certificates included in this program will also allow individuals
to upgrade their skills and step into more advanced health careers. |
