Aims Community College Dean receives Honored Alumni award from Colorado State

Donna Souther, Chief Academic Dean for Aims Community College in Greeley, Colo., was recently selected as an Honored Alumni by the Colorado State University Department of Soil and Crop Sciences. Souther received her B.S. degree in Agronomy in 1980 from Colorado State University before continuing her prolific academic career, earning her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Colorado Law School in 1984 and her Master of Arts from the University of Northern Colorado in Human Communications in 1999. The Honored Alumni award recognizes outstanding service to the community and continued efforts in higher education.

"Donna Souther was selected based on her great reputation as a teacher and administrator; all accomplished right here in Colorado," said Dr. Gary Peterson, CSU Soil and Crop Sciences Professor. "We believe that Donna has truly honored our Department and CSU by her achievements.

In addition to this latest honor, Souther has received the Administrator and Faculty of the Year awards from Aims Community College, a Faculty of the Year award from the State Board for Community Colleges and Occupational Educational System. Souther was also recently selected as one of only 32 community college leaders to attend the prestigious Executive Leadership Institute sponsored by the League for Innovation in the Community College.
