Aims Community College takes the lead in online learning

Aims Community College Social Sciences Professor Tracey Trenam has been selected by the eLearning Consortium of Colorado (formerly Telecommunications Coopertive of Colorado or TELECOOP) as the eLearning Educator for 2008. The eLearning Consortium is dedicated to the enhancement of educational opportunities through distance learning. This award is designed to recognize exceptional efforts by faculty and instructors in the field of eLearning.

Trenam has taught online classes for more than a decade. In addition to serving as the chair of the college's curriculum committee, Trenam is known as a leader in applying innovative technologies in her online and in-person classes.

Also, Jean Otte, the director of online learning for Aims Community College, has been elected as co-chair for the eLearning Consortium of Colorado. This fall semester, Aims students will be able to earn an associate degree completely online.
