Students aim to collect 10,000 pounds of food in one day for local Food BanksSubmitted on: 03-10-2009Student leaders from Aims Community College hope to collect 10,000 pounds of food this weekend to donate to the Food Banks in Weld and Larimer counties. Student government leaders and members of Phi Theta Kappa, the two-year college honor society, will be stationed strategically in Greeley and Loveland on March 14, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aims students will collect food and cash donations at both Walmarts (250 W. 65th St. and 1325 North Denver Ave.) and King Soopers (1275 Eagle Drive and 253 East 29th St.) in Loveland; and both King Soopers (2100 35th Ave. and 2712 11th Ave.), both Walmarts (920 47th Ave. and 3103 23rd Ave.) and the Sam's Club in Greeley (3247 23rd Ave.). In addition to Student Government and Phi Theta Kappa, student clubs represented include the Aims History Club, Aims LULAC, Clay in Action, Aims Gay/Straight Alliance, Aims Music Club and the Surgical Technology Club.
