Submitted on: 07-30-2009

Family and friends of the late Dale Majors have established a memorial endowment scholarship for welding students attending Aims Community College.

An early and long-time supporter of Aims Community College and a welder himself, Majors played a significant role in the development of vocational programs at Aims. He served on the Aims Board of Trustees for 16 years and he was presented with the Honorary Aims Fellows Award in 2009.

He owned and operated Majors Welding Supply & Equipment Co. for 25 years, Gateway Self Storage and other commercial properties. Dale was active in the community, having served as President of the Greeley Rotary Club, on the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and many other organizations.

"Dale loved the welding industry, had thoughtful business practices, and was committed to the community," said family spokesman Jeff Engelman, "The scholarship is a way to pass these traits on to future generations."
