The labyrinth is a powerful symbol
found in the artifacts of societies throughout the world. This
maze, photographed in Arizona on the reservation of the Tohono
O'odham people, represents the path through life, each step requiring
decisions and cooperation as we seek knowledge. Each person and society must travel the path of life, believe the Tohono O'dham, stopping at each junction to contemplate the past, even as we study each possible road towards our future. The end of life is the center, which is also the beginning of the maze.
