The Education Program provides lifelong learning opportunities
to meet the needs of pre-service and in-service teachers, families,
parents, and students.
Programs include:
- Early Childhood Education - Certificate and degree programs for
individuals seeing a career working with young children.
- Elementary Education - Colorado community colleges have an articulation
agreement for students desiring to become elementary level teachers.
A course of study consisting of 60 credits will transfer to teacher
preparation programs at 4-year institutions in the state.
- Secondary Education - Students interested in teaching at the
middle school or high school level can complete their first two
years of general education and content area advisors
- Paraeducators - Aims offers an A.A.S. and a certificate for paraeducators
to meet No Child Left Behind guidelines. Courses include enhancement
of skills necessary for effective interaction with students and
some general education.
- Professional Education - Offers a diverse array of courses for
professional development for teachers and other professionals.
Topics include English language learners, classroom management,
leadership, problem-solving, cultural sensitivity, wellness and
core knowledge enrichment.
- Parent/Family Education - Courses helps parents, guardians, advocates
and caregivers understand child development, family management
and confidence-building strategies for themselves and children.
