EMT IV Course
This class is designed to assist students in building the hands-on skills needed to successfully start an IV, as well as develop decision-making skills so critical in IV therapy.

Students practice IV skills in every class along with actual emergency scenarios that involve initiating IV therapy.

This course is designed to ensure success during clinical rotations and in the field.

The instructor-to-student ratio is built to ensure safety and one-on-one attention that is needed to learn this skill.

Health Insurance and a pre-requisite packet are required for the course.

Erin Siegel says:

I really enjoyed this class because how many classes let you poke your friends with needles?

It may make you cringe, but it really helps to have the comfort of your friend on the other end of the needle.

We learned all about blood and other fluids in the body and how the different solutions given through IV can affect the person. We learned when and when not to use certain solutions and where the IVs are best placed.

In class we were placed in "practical" situations that allowed us to learn in real-life situations. It was a lot of fun running around the building with someone on a cot, pretending you are in an ambulance, while trying to put in an IV.

When you are more comfortable with it, so are your patients, and this class allows you to get over any fear of needles!
