EMT Internship

This course is designed to provide the EMT Intern with 90 hours of field internship.  This is an opportunity for the student to work in a clinical or pre-hospital setting as an EMT working under the supervision of a clinical/field preceptor.  Emphasis is placed on building basic assessment skills, patient contact hours, and knowledge that will be necessary to gain successful employment in the student's chosen area.

What are the prerequisites for the EMT Internship?

**Copies of all documents are due to Stacey Tekansik before the prerequisite due date. If you have questions, please contact Stacey directly at 970-339-6397 or stacey.tekansik@aims.edu. Documentation may either be hand delivered or scanned and emailed. Students whose prerequisites are not completed by the due date, will be administratively dropped from the course.

What class do I need to register for?

  • EMS 180 – EMT Clinical Internship (2 credits)

**Students will only be allowed to register for this class with department approval after all prerequisites are completed and turned in to Stacey Tekansik.

What supplies do I need for the EMT Internship?

  • Uniform (Navy slacks, white polo shirt, black shoes)
  • Aims issued EMT Internship ID tag
  • Stethoscope
  • Protective eyewear
