The Emergency Medical Technician IV class is a 2-credit class that includes online learning, 16 hours of face-to-face lab, and an 8 hour clinical. Students must be a current Colorado Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) to register for this class.

This class is designed to assist students in building the hands-on skills needed to:

Students practice IV skills on each other in class and then complete an eight-hour clinical (minimum). In order to qualify for state recognition as an EMT-IV, students must complete four successful IV sticks on a patient in a clinical setting. The instructor-to-student ratio utilized in this program helps to ensure that safety standards are met and provides the one-on-one attention that is needed to learn this skill.
