EMT Intravenous Therapy

Online Hybrid

  • Only 16 hours of lab time

This class is designed to assist students in building the hands-on skills needed to:

  • Successfully start an IV
  • Develop decision-making skills critical in IV therapy

Students practice IV skills on each other in class and then complete an 8-hour clinical (minimum). In order to qualify for state certification as an EMT-IV, students must complete 4 successful IV sticks on a patient in a clinical setting. The instructor-to-student ratio utilized in this program helps to ensure that safety standards are met and provides the one-on-one attention that is needed to learn this skill.
