About

The ability to express yourself in writing is a skill that is in high demand in the workplace, as well as an important talent that any citizen should possess. The English and Speech department at Aims is the place to learn how to freshen your writing skills and become an articulate citizen and sound critical thinker.

Potential job opportunities include:

  • Publisher
  • Editor
  • Copywriter
  • Teacher
  • Technical Writer
  • Marketing/Advertising Coordinator
  • And more!

We offer skill-building writing instruction that will prepare you for the more demanding essay and research-based paper “core” classes (ENG 121 and 122). We also offer classes like Creative Writing and Technical Writing. In addition, you can take a class in Public Speaking (COM 115) and Interpersonal Communication (COM 125), which will strengthen skills in both your career and your relationships. Plus, many of our courses will transfer to any four-year university in Colorado, guaranteed.

Our faculty are professional, courteous and knowledgeable about writing. They often share their own writing situations and struggles to let you know you’re not alone when facing a writing project. We make ourselves accessible and are happy to meet with you individually to improve your writing skills and make writing an enjoyable experience.
