The English Department at Aims is the place to learn to express
yourself in writing, a skill in high demand in the work place as
well as a skill any citizen should possess.
Several courses meet the General Education content and competencies
establish by the state and are transferable between two- and four-year
Colorado colleges. These courses freshen your writing skills and
guide you toward becoming an articulate citizen and sound critical
thinker.
The English department offers courses that include skill-building
classes (ENG 030, 060, and 090), which prepare students for the
more demanding essay and research-based paper “core” classes
(ENG 121 and 122). ENG 121 and ENG 122 are State Guaranteed Transfer
Courses.
Keep an eye out for other English department offerings, such as
Creative Writing and Creative Non-Fiction. You'll find the English
faculty at Aims to be professional, courteous, and knowledgeable
about writing. They often share their own writing situations and
struggles to let students know they're not alone when facing a
writing project.
When you take a writing class at Aims, you'll find faculty quite
accessible and glad to meet with students individually to improve
their writing skills and to make writing an enjoyable experience.
