Fire Academy
Prerequisite Information
Before students will be allowed to take FST 100 and 170, they must demonstrate that they have the physical ability to complete the skills required in the fire academy. Students can meet this requirement by providing proof of one of the following:
- Successful completion of a certified Candidate Physical Agility Test (CPAT) or other comparable Physical Agility Test within twelve months of the start date of the fire academy.
- Successful completion of FST 160 within twelve months of the start date of the fire academy.
Students will be allowed to register for FST 100 and 170 prior to providing proof of the above, but will be dropped the first day of class if they fail to provide the required documentation to meet the prerequisite requirement.
