Fingerprinting Process Instructions

It is a requirement for ALL students who enroll in the Associate Degree of Applied Science (ADN) Nursing Program at Aims Community College to be fingerprinted.

The Fingerprint Investigation goes back ninety-nine (99) years and is valid for seven (7) years. Results are kept in a confidential locked cabinet in the Nursing Department.

The process for obtaining your Fingerprint Report is as follows: Please read and follow directions completely.

  1. Access the dedicated Aims Community College Allied Health Programs website at www.aimscx.com.
    a. Click on “Place Order” and select Package #2, FBI Fingerprint Record Check.
    b. Fax in the “Disclosure and Release” form as indicated in the written instructions.
    c. Choose the appropriate method of payment.

  2. American DataBank will send a package of materials via regular mail that includes:
    a. the instruction sheet presented to the sheriff’s department
    b. the fingerprint card
    c. the FBI instruction sheet that must be signed by the student
    d. the “Authorization for Release of Information” page that MUST be signed by the student and NOTARIZED.

  3. Fingerprinting must be done at a sheriff’s department, (typically at the jail). Students must bring:
    a. a valid picture ID (driver’s license or state ID)
    b. cash or a credit card (the sheriff’s dept. will charge a fingerprinting fee)
    c. all package materials received from American DataBank

Failure to bring any of the above items at the time of the fingerprinting could result in being turned away. It is strongly recommended that students call the sheriff’s department FIRST to verify additional information and/or fees required at the time of fingerprinting.

  4. The “Authorization for Release of Information” page must be notarized prior to sending in all package materials or the package will be REJECTED by American DataBank and returned to the student. The sheriff’s department typically does NOT notarize the forms; students MUST contact a banking institution or other facility to have this form notarized.

  5. Once the above steps have been completed, ALL package materials MUST be returned to American DataBank at:
    American DataBank
    910 16th Street, 5th Floor
    Denver, Colorado 80202

After processing the fingerprint record, American DataBank will send the results to the home school listed on the package order. Please allow a minimum of 8-12 weeks for the results to be processed and logged.

Note: It is the student’s responsibility to contact American DataBank at 800-200-0853 to verify that results have been sent to Aims Community College as well as to request an electronic copy sent for their personal records; this copy will be required as part of the collection of materials presented to the Advising Department to determine student’s eligibility for admission into the Nursing Program. The Advising Department is NOT responsible for the evaluation of the fingerprinting results.

Any questions regarding the Fingerprinting Process can be directed to American DataBank at 800-200-0853.
