The MIST Program:

The MIST Program provides a new type of job training program to address the hiring needs of energy and manufacturing employers at various levels. A consistent message from employers is that there is a high demand for entry level employees with quality fundamental skills in the areas of math, science, business and technology.
Participants will learn to communicate effectively, demonstrate technical competence, and work well on teams. This certificate will prepare individuals for high demand careers as process technicians, energy, bio-energy, and manufacturing jobs.
The MIST Program will provide the student with:

• Knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of process technicians, theory, technology, testing procedures, communications and mathematics
• Ability to read technical blueprints and schematic diagrams
• Ability to use a variety of metering devices
• Ability to use communication and observation skills
• Knowledge of business management skills
• Ability to write and edit, for business communications
