2006 - Bridge to MSN; Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, FL
2002 - ASN; Mercy College of Health Sciences, Des Moines, IA
1988 - BA; University Studies, North Dakota State University, Fargo, ND
Professional Background
I have been a Registered Nurse since 2002; having practiced in Iowa, Florida and Colorado. My professional clinical experiences include sub-acute rehab, acute care of surgical, stroke and cardiac patients, critical care, and most recently, cardiac critical care.
My introduction to nursing education came early in 2011 as a part-time Med-Surg Clinical Instructor for both Aims and the University of Northern Colorado. I was hooked! I fell in love with nursing education! To be with nursing students, at the bedside, passing on my knowledge and love for hands-on patient care is both a pleasure and a privilege!
Current Interests
In addition to clinical instructing, I team-teach the Advanced Med-Surg courses. I spent a majority of my clinical practice nursing cardiac patients. I continue to be amazed and intrigued by the physiology of the cardiovascular system and the pathophysiology’s of the diseases affecting heart function. This is my favorite subject to teach!
