New Web Development/Graphic Design AAS Degree Offered at Aims

It is evident from our research of jobs-offered sources (web, newspaper ads, industry input) that employers are looking for employees trained in areas of expertise that significantly overlap what has been historically thought of as two separate areas -Web/Graphic Design and Web Development.

A number of Aims students have been successful in completing courses in both areas and without exception they have found jobs quickly.

The Web/Graphic Design part of the degree would involve color, layout, typography, graphics creation, and animation, while the Web Development part of the degree would include XHTML, server-side(PHP, MySQL, AJAX) and client-side(Javascript) scripting as well as page design using Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).

The degree will be offered beginning in the Fall of 2008. Talk to Lori Ford in Graphic Technology or Dick Gardner in CIS/CSC if you are interested in learning more about this exciting new degree.
