Unix Certificate

The Unix curriculum is designed to give the student an understanding of using the Unix Operating System commands at the command line and administering modern graphical Unix interfaces.

CSC 116 Logic and Program Design This is the entry level programming class. The student is introduced to computer program design using concepts of structured programming and logic. 3 Can be taken in conjunction with CIS124 and CIS118 Syllabus
CIS 220 Fundamentals of Unix This course covers the structure and fundamentals of the UNIX operating system. 3 There are no prerequisites for this class. Syllabus
CNG 109 Computer Network Lab Offers the student complete hands on practice and discovery with the software and hardware found in most network connectivity situations today. 3 CNG101 Syllabus
CNG 131 Network Security Fundamentals Delivers a comprehensive overview of network security, including general security concepts. Communication Security is studied, including remote access, email, the Web, directory and file transfer, and wireless data. Common network attacks are introduced. 3 CNG101 Syllabus
