Career Academy

How It Works:

Aims Community College in partnership with School District 6 and RE-8, and RE3J offers Career & Technical (CTE) certificates to qualified high school juniors and seniors during daytime class periods. Students receive both high school credit and college credit for the courses they take in the Career Academy Program and receive both a college certificate and a high school diploma upon successful completion of high school and college graduation requirements.  The qualified student receives the college education which includes the cost of all course materials.   The courses are taught by certified college instructors on the college campus. 

To Qualify Students Must Complete the Following Requirements:

• You have to be classified as a junior or senior on track for high school graduation.
• You must be recommended by your high school counselor and complete the Career Academy Application.
• District 6 students
• RE-8 & RE3J students
• Attend an Parent/Student Information Session with parent or guardian.
• Complete a High School Concurrent Enrollment Application.
• Take Placement Exam.
