Aims Checklist Steps
in the Career Academy Enrollment Process
1. Meet with your High School counselor for:
- • Review of Career Academy requirements
- Completion of the Career Academy Application
- District 6 students (link to Career-Academy_Application_district-6.doc).
- RE-8 students (link to Career-Academy_Application_RE-8.doc)
2. Attend an Information Session
For those who are attending college for the first time a
one time mandatory meeting with your parents
is required. Representatives from Aims will explain the Career
Academy partnership with your school district and Aims Community
College. We will answer questions and help you complete the
necessary paperwork for enrollment.
- High School Concurrent Enrollment Application there
is no application fee
- Your
parent’s signature is required on the application for
students under the age of 18
- Complete the Student Consent to Release Information
Form
- Your grades need to be released to the high school to be counted for
dual credit
- Complete the Affidavit of Lawful Presence Form
- Bring your Colorado Driver’s License, we will need
a photocopy
- Undocumented students will need to complete a Post Secondary
Enrollment (PSEO) form
Call the campus of your choice for dates, times and locations
to attend an Information Session.

3. Meet the Assessment Requirements in one of the
following ways:
- ACT scores (Reading 17, English 18, Math 19), or
- SAT scores (Verbal/Critical Thinking 430, Math 460), or
- Successful completion of college-level math and English
courses, or
- Taking the Accuplacer computer
placement test. (study
guides are available on Aims’ web site)
4. Register for Classes
Students will be notified by mail after completion of the steps
above if they are accepted into the Career Academy. Competition
is keen for some programs and preference will be given on a first
come first serve basis. Contact the pre-collegiate advisor,
Lesli Bicknell to make an advising appointment and register for classes
(970-339-6251).
5. Contact a Recruiter for Program Tours and Additional
Information about Aims
Scheduled campus tours are available to prospective students at Getting
Started Sessions. For dates and times, and to reserve a spot, call:

All tuition and fees will be covered by your school district. If
you receive a bill, please disregard.
7. Your Textbooks and Course Supplies will be provided
