PSEO:High school juniors and seniors may take classes through the Post-Secondary Enrollment Options Act (PSEO). Credit for courses successfully completed will apply toward an associate degree, associate of applied science degree, a certificate from Aims Community College or be transferred to another college or university. After a student successfully completes a PSEO class the school district reimburses the parent the cost of the college class. Students need to start the PSEO process by contacting their high school counselor to determine if they are eligible to participate. Enrollment and Registration Instructions for Students using the PSEO Agreement Dual Enrollment:High school students are eligible to take classes without enrolling under the PSEO Act, and credit will still appear on a college transcript. Students are responsible for payment of their own courses. Students who are interested in taking college courses for personal interest or high school credit must meet college entrance requirements by scoring at college level on the Accuplacer placement test. Career AcademyAims Community College offers Career & Technical certificates to qualified high school juniors and seniors during daytime periods. Students receive both high school credit and college credit for the courses they take in the Career Academy Program. The college class is a replacement rather than an addition. The courses are taught by certified college instructors on the college campus. Students enrolled in one of the five School District 6 schools, and RE-8 Ft. Lupton High School may apply. See your school counselor for details.
