Transferability of Credits

Policies regarding the transfer of credits and the specific ways in which they apply to degree requirements vary from institution to institution.  As such, no institution can guarantee that its courses will in all cases be accepted by other institutions, or that these courses will satisfy degree requirements in every academic major.  Consequently, students should obtain information regarding transfer of credits from Aims to the institution they plan to attend prior to enrolling in Aims Community College courses.  This can be done by submitting a course description from the online catalog to the admissions department of the college you are planning to attend.

Generally speaking, Colorado institutions will accept the credits earned through dual enrollment programs especially if students take courses considered state guaranteed transfer then click on gtPathways Approved Courses. However, some colleges and Universities will not accept courses for which a student also received high school credit and/or are taught exclusively for high school students. Check with your receiving institution.

Career and Technical classes (CTE) are common course numbered so it is easy to check if the receiving institution requires that class toward graduation.  Not all CTE courses transfer to a four year university.
