Mid-Terms & Finals Checklist

Are you ready for mid-terms and finals? Yes - No

YES: Remember you can always check out drop-in tutoring if you want a little extra help preparing for your exams and papers. If you would like test-taking tips or help devising a study plan, visit the Center for the First-Year Experience in HH107 for a little one-on-one.

NO: Aims offers a variety of resources to help you prepare for mid-terms and finals. Check out drop-in tutoring located on the Greeley, Fort Lupton, and Loveland campuses for help with classes and writing papers. Do you have a study plan? Yes - No

YES: Excellent! Having a plan for how you will spend your time preparing for mid-terms and finals is one way of ensuring success. If you need additional test-taking tips or resources to help you prepare for mid-terms and finals, stop by the Center for the First-Year Experience in HH107.

NO: Having a solid study plan will help you manage your time, feel less stressed, and more confident as you go into mid-terms and final exams. If you need additional test-taking tips or help devising a study plan, stop by the Center for the First-Year Experience in HH107.

Need help in your classes? Yes - No

YES: If you are having trouble in a class, make sure to get help before it is too late. Getting to know your instructor and talking with her or him about a problem as soon as you can will help you decide what to do. Academic advisors can also give you advice on what to do, and the earlier you talk with someone, the more options you have.

NO: Did you know that getting to know your instructor can help you better succeed in your classes? Academic advisors are also here to help get you the resources you need to succeed.

Thinking of withdrawing from a class? Yes - No

YES: Before you withdraw from a class, make sure to understand all your options and the impact they could have on your student record and account. If you have to withdraw from a class verify the withdraw deadline on either your syllabus or class schedule. If you have Financial Aid or any other type of aid make sure to talk with the financial aid office before you withdraw from your class. Withdrawing could impact your aid. Academic advisors are available to help you discuss your options.

YES: Registration for next term will begin while you are still in classes! Be ready for registration by seeing an academic advisor for next term or long-term planning. Use the online class schedule to get a head start on registration. Make an appointment with an academic advisor a week or two before registration begins so that you are prepared.

YES: Holds can prevent you from registering or accessing your information. To double check for holds, log into myAims, click on the “Student tab,” under Academic Records click on “Holds.”

If you’re taking a “0” level course have you checked your mid-term grades? Yes - No

YES: Great! Knowing where you are now will give you the information you need to maintain or improve your grade to meet your goals! If you have concerns about your mid-term grades make sure you go to your instructors’ office hours to discuss your progress.

NO: Knowing your academic standing in a class helps you identify what you need to do to maintain the grades you want! You can check your mid-term grades for any classes that begin with a “0” (example: MAT045) by logging into myAims, click on the “Student tab,” under Academic Records click “View Midterm Grades.” If you have concerns about your mid-term grades make sure you go to your instructors’ office hours to discuss your progress.
