Ways Your Library Liaison Can Assist You

Library Orientations
(General or Subject Specific)
Include a library tour into your next class to introduce students to the library's print and electronic resources, and other services.

Database Orientations
(General or Subject Specific)
Primarily conducted in the classroom, students are introduced to the use of the library's online databases, including various search strategies, techniques, and tips.

Specialized Information Sessions
These sessions are customized to meet specific course needs which may include Internet research, evaluating web pages, online search strategies, in-depth use of the library's online databases, locating hard-to-find information online and specialized resources (e.g., LexisNexis, Findlaw, Medline).

Requests for Materials
Faculty members may request specific titles (print or electronic) for temporary use through Interlibrary Loan, or for permanent addition to the Kiefer Library collection.  Additionally, requests for media, electronic databases or other materials in support of the curriculum are welcomed throughout the year.
Creation of LibGuides
Your Library Liaison can create and curate a customized LibGuide – or online Content Management System – to support a program, a class or a classroom unit on virtually any topic!  If you have an idea for a class, but don’t know how to make it happen, chances are, a LibGuide is the answer.
Research Assistance
The Library Liaison may provide the department or individual faculty members with reviews of literature, bibliography creation and general research assistance in support of institutional or academic research.  Additionally, your department may initiate requests with your Liaison for relevant Library information needed in periodic academic program and accreditation reviews.
