Stories about
Students
Andrea Guajardo's story Andrea Guajardo had a dream of working in the criminal justice field, but wasn't sure how to make that dream come true.
"I remember seeing commercials on TV about Aims, and I thought, 'That could be me,'" she said.
With some encouragement from friends who were Aims students, Andrea enrolled in the criminal justice program. As a mother of three children, she said cost is always an issue. She said the help from Student Services has made it easy and the instructors have been especially helpful.
"The instructors have been awesome," she said. "If we need help, they are there for us."
Andrea plans to transfer to the University of Northern Colorado after she graduates in spring of 2007. She hopes to work as a probation officer or in some other aspect of law enforcement.
"It's never too late to go back to school," she said. "Age has nothing to do with it. Come to Aims, walk into the General Services building and you'll see people are here to help." Read about another student |
