Stories about
Students
Melissa Benedix's story Melissa Benedix graduated from high school a semester earlier than planned. But she wasn't glad to be finished with her classes.
"I missed school," she said.
Melissa wanted to stay in the area, so she decided to enroll at the Aims Loveland Campus. She is completing her prerequisites in preparation to become a nurse. After graduating from Aims, which is set for next spring, she will transfer to the University of Northern Colorado.
"I would like to work in a maternity ward at a hospital, preferably somewhere local because I have a family here," she said.
Melissa commutes to the Greeley Campus four days a week, and is an active member of the Associated Students of Aims Community College (ASACC).
"I have really enjoyed getting to know the other students," she said.
Aside from the bonds she's made with her fellow classmates, Melissa has also benefited from the relationships she's made with her teachers.
"I really like the instructors," she said. "Students are able to get more one-on-one interaction here." Read about another student |
