Allied Health
Advising
Our health programs are among the most popular programs
at Aims. Students interested in each health program are REQUIRED to
attend an orientation where information about the program,
application processes, waitlists, and careers will be presented.
Students are then welcome to meet with an Allied Health Sciences
Academic Advisor and enroll in classes.
- Registered Nursing Orientation: the
second Tuesday of every month at 12 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
in Ed Beaty, room 123. Doors close promptly at 12 p.m.
and 5:30 p.m. Seating at orientation is limited to
40. Students will be admitted on a first come first
serve basis. No need to call and register. **Please
note: Registered Nursing Orientations
are cancelled for March and April 2010.
- Radiology Technology Orientation:
third Wednesday of every month at 12 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
in Ed Beaty, room 123. Doors close promptly at 12 p.m.
and 5:30 p.m. Seating at orientation is limited to
40. Students will be admitted on a first come first
serve basis. No need to call and register. **Please
note: Radiological Technology Orientations
for March and April 2010 are cancelled.
- Surgical Technology Orientation:
the second Tuesday of every month at 12 p.m. and 5:30
p.m. in Ed Beaty, room 123. Doors close promptly at
12 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. (Same orientation time as registered
nursing.) Seating at orientation is limited to 40.
Students will be admitted on a first come first serve
basis. No need to call and register. **Please
note: Surgical Technology Orientations
are cancelled for March and April 2010.
- Nurse Aide Orientation: registration
for Nurse Aide courses can only be done at the orientation.
Please make sure the following steps are completed before attending
orientation:
- Submit an application to attend Aims Community
College. Applications can be found online at www.aims.edu. It
must completed if you have not attended Aims or
have been absent for more than a year.
- Students must meet the reading assessment requirement
by providing documentation of one of
the following:
- A score of 17 or higher on the Reading section
of the ACT (less than 5 years).
- A score of 430 or higher on the Critical Reading
section of the SAT(less than 5 years).
- Successful completion of a college level writing/English
course with a C or higher that is less than
10 years old.
- A score of 62 or higher on the Reading section
of the Accuplacer placement exam
For further information regarding the reading
asssessment requirement or Accuplacer exam, contact
the Assessment
Department.
- Lastly, attend a required orientation.
No need to register for the orientation; however, seating
is limited, plan on arriving early. Late
arrivals will not be admitted. During this time,
advisors explain the prerequisite requirements for
the Nurse Aide program (immunizations, background
checks, etc.) which must be completed prior to the
first day of Nurse Aide classes. At the end of orientation
advisors will assist students in registering for
Nurse Aide courses.
Nurse Aide Orientations
for Summer and Fall 2010:
Greeley Campus - General Services building,
room 277 at 9 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Please plan on arriving
early and entering through door C. Late arrivals
will not be admitted.
Monday – April 12th, 2010: First orientation to register for Summer and
Fall 2010 Nurse Aide courses.
Monday – May 10th, 2010
Monday – June 14th, 2010 (Location TBD)
Monday – July 12th, 2010 (Location TBD)
Monday – August 9, 2010 (Location

Monday – September 13th, 2010 (Location TBD)
Monday – October 11th, 2010: (Location TBD) Last
orientation to register for Fall 2010 Nurse Aide courses.
Loveland Campus - Meet at the front service counter. Orientations
are at 8 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
Fort Lupton Campus - Room 101 at 8:30 a.m.
Monday – April 12th, 2010: First orientation to register for Summer and
Fall 2010 Nurse Aide courses.
Monday – May 10th, 2010
