Fire Emergency Evacuation Procedures for: Fort LuptonThe Fort Lupton Campus facility is equipped with audible with audible alarm and has an automated sprinkler system. When the alarm is activated, either by false alarm, test, or actual fire, all facility occupants must evacuate the building. Students with disabilities and/or students requiring special assistance
WILL BE REQUIRED TO USE THE STAIRS. Individuals in wheelchairs on second floor need to see class instructor
for assistance to be taken to closet vestibule from fire area.
Instructor will stay with student until fire department arrives.
There are two areas: It will be up to security on duty to inform the fire department at what area the student is located. The fire department will take two men, lock hands and lift student out of chair and take to the lower floor. Third man will bring down the wheelchair. The student will be put back in wheelchair and helped outside of building. If student is in a motorized wheelchair on second floor, firemen will take student down to lower floor, put in closest available chair and taken outside. The motorized chair will be left on second floor. Instructor will be responsible for insuring their area is evacuated. A telephone is located at the vestibule for assistance.
