General Accommodation and Services InformationDisability Access Services (DAS) at Aims Community College was established to ensure that students with disabilities admitted to Aims are provided equal access to college programs, services and facilities. Appropriate/reasonable accommodations are determined for each student on an individual basis by DAS staff and are based on disability documentation. Students with disabilities requesting services through DAS are required to provide documentation from a qualified professional verifying the existence of the disabling condition and describing the affect of the disability on the student's ability to access the educational process. Flexibility and effective communication between student and instructor are key in approaching accommodations. Although students with similar disabilities may require different accommodations, it is useful to be aware of the typical strategies working with students who have various types of impairments.
