Accommodations
for Academic Testing for Students with Disabilities
Testing services for students with disabilities include accommodations
such as additional testing time, alternate formats (audio,
Braille, etc), reduced distraction environments and test scribes.
The administration of Testing Accommodations is a collaborative
process between the DAS, instructors, and the student. It is
the DAS’s responsibility to determine the accommodations
the student is eligible for, the instructor's responsibility
to complete the appropriate checklist (located at bottom of
page) for all tests sent to the Testing Center, and the student’s
responsibility to schedule their accommodations and testing
time at the Testing Center. Please note that students will
be asked to show a valid picture I.D. at the time of test taking.
General Testing Accommodation Information
- Testing accommodations approved by the DAS and offered
through the Testing Center are intended only for students
who have been determined eligible for services through the
DAS. Students who require accommodations for learning disabilities
or other types of disabilities must first go through Disability
Access Services (DAS).
- Students must coordinate their testing accommodations with
their instructor to take the test in the Testing Center.
The Testing Center must receive a Single Student Testing
Checklist (see below) and the test from the instructor before
a student can take an exam.
- All academic testing will be conducted at the Testing Center
(CCTR #230) during posted hours. All academic tests must
be completed by closing. We will not begin a test within
one hour of closing, or longer depending on the accommodations
for additional testing time.
