Aims Community College Scholarship Application 2008-2009

Through the generosity of individuals, businesses and associations, Aims Community College Foundation awards scholarships to support student academic success. Past scholarship recipients include students in the liberal arts and science curricula as well as technical and career programs. Full and part-time students and new and returning students benefit from these scholarship awards every year. Awards are subject to change based on availability of funds.

Scholarship Eligibility

Criteria for each scholarship vary and have been established by the donor. Examples of scholarship criteria include: academic achievement, pursuit of particular college majors, or enrollment status (e.g. full-time or part-time). The Office of Student Financial Assistance will gladly assist you in determining your eligibility. Typical scholarships defray the costs of tuition and fees.

Scholarship Selection

The Scholarship Selection Committee reviews all scholarship applications and notifies all applicants of award decisions by May. Scholarship awards range from $250 - $2500. Larger awards are generally distributed equally over one academic year (two semesters). Scholarship recipients must maintain eligibility requirements for each semester the scholarship is awarded. Current scholarship recipients may apply for subsequent awards as long as eligibility requirements are met and funds are available.

Application Process

Students who wish to be considered as scholarship candidates for the 2008-2009 academic year must complete a Scholarship Application and Personal Statement. Applicants will be matched to available scholarships based on eligibility requirements by the Scholarship Selection Committee. Priority deadline for submission of scholarship application and official college transcripts (for colleges attended other than Aims) and official high school transcripts or GED test scores (for high school/GED students only) is March 14, 2008.
