Steps to Applying for Aid - Payment of Aid

Payment of your financial aid will occur just prior to the scheduled start date of each semester provided your financial aid awards have been made and you have completed all additional requirements, if applicable.

  1. There is a 30-calendar day delay, from the beginning of the semester, for all loan borrowers who are first-time students.  Provided you have completed all of the additional steps, the first disbursement of your loan will occur AFTER the 30th calendar day past the start of the semester.

  2. Work-study funds are NOT paid to your student tuition account.  If you are hired for a work-study eligible job, you will be paid monthly for hours worked within each pay period.

Most financial aid programs require enrollment of at least 6 credits for you to be eligible for the payment of these funds to your tuition account.  The Federal Pell Grant program MAY be available to students who are enrolled for less-than-half-time (.5 to 5.5 credits) depending upon their Expected Family Contribution (EFC).

If you are enrolled for less than 12 credit hours, the amount of financial aid that pays to your student tuition account may be different than the amount stated on your Award Letter. Many programs require the amount paid to be adjusted according to your actual enrollment status.  Where enrollment statuses and adjustments are defined as:

  • 12 or more credits         Full-time (100% of award)
  • 9 – 11.5 credits             Three-Quarter-time (75% of award)
  • 6 – 8.5 credits               Half-time (50% of award)
  • .5 – 5.5 credits              Less-than-half-time (no payment of award)
