Steps for International Admissions

Attending Aims Community College will be an exciting step in your educational goals. It is suggested you apply early to ensure you do not have delays in being accepted.

All required documents must be submitted prior to the deadlines. 

    Deadlines to submit applications for international students who are outside the U.S.:

Semester Deadline
Summer  March 15th
Fall  June 1st
Spring  November 1st

1. Apply for Admissions to Aims

Complete the International Student Admissions Application.

Your responses must be legible and in English.  Submitted applications are valid for one year following the semester you apply to Aims Community College.  After one year, you must submit a new application and resubmit all required documents.

2.  Transcripts 

Official high school (secondary) transcripts.
Official transcripts and certified English translations from high/secondary school.  If only one original is available, a certified copy may be submitted.  Transcripts submitted become the property of International Admissions and will not be returned to the applicant.

3. Proof of English Language Proficiency

All applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate English proficiency as part of the application process.  Students may demonstrate competency by submitting one of the following:

Scores must be sent directly from the Educational Testing Service. The TOFEL service cannot verify TOFEL scores after 2 years.

4.  Proof of Financial Resources

International Students Financial Support Statement. The Financial Support Statement must include your and your sponsor's signatures.

Copy of the photo-page of your passport.  You must have a valid passport with a validity date for at least six months after your proposed date of entry) for travel into the United States. It is your responsibility to maintain a valid passport.

5. Proof of Health Insurance

All international students are required to submit proof of health insurance coverage prior to registration of classes. Here are some suggested insurance agencies:

Your classes will be dropped by the Last day to drop if you have not purchased Medical insurance by the Last Day to Drop Full Term Courses.

6. Housing

The college does not provide housing for students.  You are responsible for making housing arrangements.  There are many opportunities to rent an apartment or house.

7.  Submit the I-20

Release form to indicate where your Welcome packet (official Letter of Acceptance and I-20 form) is to be sent.

8. Transfer-In and Co-enrollment Admissions*

Co-enrolled students are international students who have a current I-20s and an F-1 student visa and enrolled in another college/university or a high school and plan to enroll for a class at Aims Community College:

Based on placement scores, enrollment into College Preparatory courses may be required.
