International Admissions: Special Admissions

Co-enrolled students are international students who were issued an I-20s and an F-1 student visas from another college/university or a high school and plan to enroll for a class at Aims Community College:

Enrolled full-time at another college or university:

  • International Student Application (Admissions Packet)
  • Official transcript from current college/university
  • Proof of English proficiency (see #2 on Admission requirements) or successfully completed English Composition at a U.S.college /university
  • Copies of the student’s I-20, F-1, visa, I-94, and passport
  • Letter of permission from the International student advisor at the host institution
  • Co-enrolled student may be required to complete the Aims placement exam

High school students:

  • International Student Application (Admissions Packet)
  • Proof of English proficiency (see #2 on Admission requirements)
  • Official transcript from the high school
  • Copies of the student’s I-20, F-1, visa, I-94, and passport
  • Letter of permission from the high school counselor
  • Co-enrolled student may be required to complete the Aims placement exam

Transfer Students within the United States Applying for Admissions
Application deadlines:
Summer semester (late May) - April 1st 
Fall semester (Mid-August) – July 1st
 Spring Semester (early January) - December 1st

  • International Student Application (Admissions Packet)
  • Official transcript from current college/university
  • Proof of English proficiency (see #2 on Admission requirements) or successfully completed English Composition at a U.S. college/university
  • Copies of the student’s I-20, F-1, visa, I-94, and passport
  • Financial Statement of Support (Admissions Packet) Bank statements and letters must be issued within 6 months of the term in which you will be admitted.
  • Transfer-In Form (Admissions Packet) must be signed by the International advisor at your current college/university.  The current institution must release your SEVIS record before an I-20 can be issued.
  • Transfer students may be required to complete the Aims placement exam if a college level math and English composition have not been completed at a U.S. college/university.

Based on placement scores, enrollment into College Preparatory courses may be required.
