Welcome to the Learning Commons

The Learning Commons is a cooperative learning space that encourages academic proficiency through resource exploration, skill development, and social connectedness.

Mission - A comfortable learning space with information experts, technology & resources to serve students, partner with faculty, and engage with the broader community. 

Here is some important information about the Learning Commons.  

Services:

Our services are divided into five areas:    

  • Library Services - 24/7 librarian assistance available: Librarian Assistance
  • Tutoring Services – on campus and remote assistance and now 24/7 online help: Tutoring Assistance
  • Online Support Services – both on campus and remote assistance available: Online Support Assistance
  • Computer/Technology Assistance Services – both on campus and remote assistance available: Computer/Technology Assistance. A computer lab with Dell and Mac computers are available. Printers are available in the Learning Commons
  • Arty's Power Hour Study Sessions - Visit with our Academic Coach to learn effective study tips and time management tools. 

StudentLingo - on demand student success videos.  You can locate StudentLingo on Okta, look for the StudentLingo tile.
    

Device and Book Check Outs:

Laptops, hot spots, calculators, and other items are available for short term usage or for semester long check-out. You can access our reservation form here: Reserve Equipment and Textbooks.

Textbooks can be borrowed for three hours or for one week.  Textbook borrowing is on a first come, first serve basis.  Please remember that borrowing a textbook from the Learning Commons is a stop-gap method for students who are waiting for their textbook to arrive.  

 

Returning a Device/Book:

If you still have a device or item that you checked out before, please return that item as soon as possible for updating purposes.  You will be able to check out other devices/items, but we need to have past check outs returned.

The Learning Commons has a number of study rooms available on a first come, first serve basis.
