Academic Probation
We understand that rough semesters can happen to anyone, and we’ll
work with you to develop an individualized plan for your academic
comeback.
Aims Community College has an Academic Standards Policy to ensure
that degree and certificate seeking students maintain satisfactory
academic progress. To remain in Academic Good Standing, a cumulative
GPA of 2.0 or higher is required. Students who achieve less than
a 2.0 cumulative GPA will be placed on Academic Probation.
If you have received notification that you are on Academic Probation
please make an appointment to see your Academic Probation Advisor
who will be assigned to you through the Student
Success Centers on all campuses. Your advisor will discuss your academic options.
You will also need to complete the Academic Success Plan prior
to meeting with your advisor.
Students on Academic Probation may be placed on Academic Suspension
if they are not demonstrating academic improvement. If you are
academically suspended from Aims you will need to submit a written
appeal for reinstatement. If your appeal is denied, you will be
required to sit out a term, reapply for admission, and develop
an Academic Reentry Plan with an advisor.
