Emerging Scholars ProgramThe Emerging Scholars program provides academic support to new students with College Prep needs. The goals of the program are to help students adjust to college, provide support necessary for successful completion of college-level courses and encourage students to persist to graduation and be successful. If eligible, you will receive:
Students who are new to Aims with 3 areas of college prep needs in reading, math and English are enrolled in the Emerging Scholars program as part of their first year experience. Students who are new to Aims with 2 areas of college prep needs in reading, math or English are eligible to participate in the Emerging Scholars program. This program is designed to assist students with the transition to college and prepare you for college level coursework. In addition, by participating in the Emerging Scholars program, students are eligible to apply for a scholarship at the end of each semester while enrolled in college prep classes. Up to 250 scholarships of $300 will be awarded at the end of each fall and spring semester. Students need to complete an application for the scholarship each semester.
