If you are enrolling in your first online course at Aims, don’t miss this hands-on orientation. You’ll use the Aims online course software and get tips and help from online instructors.

• New Semester Resolutions
Welcome to a new semester filled with possibility! Take time to reflect on the past, renew your goals, recommit to your priorities, and be refreshed for a brand new semester in this interactive workshop.

• Email: Your Friend or Foe?
Want to impress your professor? Start off your semester on the right foot by learning basic email etiquette, important written communication principles, and why you shouldn’t press "send" until you’ve spell-checked!

• Demystifying Math Tests
MATH – you either love it or hate it! Improve your score on your next math exam with these new math testing strategies. Bring a copy of your last math test (for your eyes only).

• Unbaffling Biology
Does your biology class seem overwhelming? Come to this workshop to get some tips, tricks, and tools to help you study and master the subject of biology.

• UPgrade Your Grammar: Brush up on Basics
Review basic grammar through compound sentences by learning about parts of speech, clauses, conjunctions, and compound sentences. Avoid errors such as splices and run-ons!

• Overcoming Test Phobia
Does the idea of taking a test send you into a panic? Learn strategies for test prep and beating test anxiety. You won’t be overwhelmed when you practice these successful techniques.

• Reset Your Mindset! (Greeley & Loveland)
Improve your grades and get more out of school and life by adopting a set of attitudes based on growth and opportunity. You’ll get a self-test checklist and tips for moving from a “fixed” to a “growth” mindset.

• UPgrade Your Grammar: Conquering Complex Sentences
Review parts of speech, sentence structure, clauses, and conjunctions. Learn how to express yourself through complex sentences as well as how to avoid common fragment errors. Lunch provided.

• See Math a New Way
This step-by-step pairing of math work and narration organizes your work and promotes problem solving strategies. Learn how to “chunk” your approach to problems, reflect on connections, and use prior knowledge.

• Navigating Finals Week
One week can determine up to 40% of your final class grade. Finals week is when you SINK or SWIM. Do you know how to guarantee that you and your GPA will "float through" finals successfully?
