Student Support Services (TRiO)

TRiO at Aims

Aims Community College was awarded our first Student Support Services (TRIO) Program in fall, 2005. This program serves 160 students who meet specific eligibility requirements:

  • First Generation student (neither parent has a Bachelor’s degree) or
  • Low income background or
  • Documented disability

In fall 2010, the Department of Education renewed our Student Support Services Program with a new five year grant. Aims Community College was also awarded a second Student Support Services Program for students in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) majors.  This grant serves an additional 120 students with the same eligibility requirements (first generation, low income, or documented disability) and will be pursuing a STEM related degree.
