What to do if you want a Mentor:

Students wanting to have a mentor need to request a mentor one semester in advance and fill out a mentor request form (available at the student support services office). Mentors and Mentees must go through a mandatory training that will occur at the beginning of each semester for the current group of students who want mentors.

Requirements:

Mentees and mentors are required to meet for approximately 5 hours a month. During the training you will get to know your mentor and learn how to interact with a mentor in order to make your relationship a productive one. You can have a mentor for up to two semesters and for as little as one. However, you must commit to seeing your mentor for one semester.

 

Aims Community College Mentoring Contract:

Students utilizing mentoring must agree to the following rules. Students will be required to sign a copy of the following rules before receiving mentoring:

Contract

  1. Meet and be on time for all scheduled appointments.

  2. Bring the necessary materials to sessions.

  3. Come prepared to sessions.

  4. Please give at least 24 hours notice to your mentor or mentee if you are unable to attend a planned meeting.

  5. Attend at least 1 sponsored event a semester (Friday Lunch etc).
